Coating Die-Head Shim for Lithium-Battery Production
What We Made
This ultra-thin metal shim is used in a coating die head for lithium-battery production. The component combines long locating profiles, irregular slots, precision openings, and raised tab features in one drawing-defined part.
The Technical Challenge
The geometry requires irregular slit machining and trapezoidal cross-section features while maintaining consistent opening geometry. Because the shim is ultra-thin, flatness and thickness consistency also need to be considered alongside the cut profile so the finished part can fit into the coating assembly as intended.
How We Support the Build
We work from the released drawing to plan the critical profiles, slots, and locating features around the required shim material and finished condition. This drawing-led approach lets the part be reviewed for feature accessibility, edge requirements, flatness expectations, and inspection points before prototype or repeat production.
Numbers That Matter
Cross-section geometry reviewed to the component drawing
Flatness and thickness consistency considered for assembly
