Mobile Camera Module Bracket: High-Volume Case Study
What We Built
We run the laser micro-processing line for a top-3 global smartphone brand's camera module brackets. These parts are tiny—12 mm × 11 mm—but the tolerances are brutal. One slip in alignment or burr control, and the whole assembly line stops.
We handle the full flow: raw material positioning, hybrid stamping, double-sided laser etching, ultra-fine cutting, and 100% AOI inspection. The line currently supports 100M+ units per year with zero batch rejections for 18 months straight.
Materials & Specs
Material: SUS301 stainless steel or aluminum alloy, 0.1 mm–0.3 mm thick
Part size: 12 mm × 11 mm standard camera module bracket
Production: Fully automated line, monthly output 8.5M units
The Problem
The client's old process relied on pure stamping. Burr rates sat at 8%, alignment drift hit 0.1 mm, and assembly failure climbed to 12%. At 100M units per year, that scrap rate burns real money. They needed a process that could hold tight tolerances across massive volumes without manual rework.
How We Fixed It
We swapped the pure-stamping approach for a hybrid workflow: high-speed stamping for forming, followed by precision laser etching and cutting for the critical dimensions. Every part passes through 100% automated optical inspection before it ships. The result: 0% assembly failure, 0 burrs, and stable output month after month.
Process Flow
1. Raw material unwinding & precision positioning
2. Hybrid stamping forming
3. Double-sided laser etching
4. Ultra-fine laser cutting
5. 100% AOI quality check
6. Auto-packaging & delivery
Numbers That Matter
60% tighter than conventional methods
Hybrid stamping + laser etching
Eliminated 8% historical defect rate
Quality Control
Incoming material inspection, real-time online monitoring, 100% AOI auto-detection, and finished-product sampling. Every batch is traceable. Every part meets spec before it leaves the floor.
